According to IHS Markit Which smartphone sold the most in the first half of 2017 ?
According to IHS Markit, the Apple iPhone 7 was the world’s best-selling smartphone in the first half of 2017. After Apple iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Plus was followed by third place. 2015’s Apple iPhone 6s is fourth, and Samsung Galaxy S8 is fifth. The Samsung Galaxy S8 + is in sixth place.
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are in the top two places, but lower than in the first half of last year when shipped by the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 are the most popular phones in the first half of 2015, 2016 and 2017, respectively, while the market share for each phone dropped from 10% to 7% and then to 5% this year.
As we have noted, the Samsung Galaxy S8 + took sixth place this year. This is back for the first half of 2016 compared to the fourth order of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and IHS said it could be a result of late launch of Samsung’s flagship models. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + were introduced in April this year, a month after each other. In general, IHS Markit stated that sales of Galaxy S8 / S8 + could not pass the first half of last year achieved by Galaxy S7 / S7.
In the first half of 2017, the top ten smartphones had five Samsung smartphones, four Apple phones, and a phone made by Oppo.
